Our trained tutors provide individual counseling in writing for Texas State students at any level of study. This includes help with all types of writing—such as essays, technical writing, research papers, formal letters, in-class essay exams, MLA/APA documentation, professional writing, and resumes. We also tutor for the GSP.

Help us Feed the Hungry
The Writing Center is holding its first food drive for the Hays County Area food bank. The drive runs until November 20. We will accept any donations and non-perishable items, but the most needed items are canned green beans and other vegetables and Thanksgiving items such as canned sweet potatoes, cranberries, etc. Please be sure to bring items or donations to Flowers Hall G09 by November 20.

Texas State Writing Center at SCWCA Conference (Carter Maddox, Sara Stamets, Nancy Wilson, Amy Kuehl, Keri Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Threadgill, Jessica Listi, Stephanie Redburn)
Several members of the Texas State Writing Center staff presented at the 2009 South Central Writing Center Association Conference at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Sessions included "Becoming a Safe Place for LGBTQ Students" (Keri Fitzgerald, Stephanie Redburn, Nancy Wilson), "How to Find Pleasure in Online Tutoring: Adobe Connect" (Amy Kuehl, Jessica Listi, Sara Stamets), "Words Work" (Carter Maddox and Elizabeth Threadgill), and "Writing Center 2.0: The Pleasurable Elements of the Online Writing Center" (Bettina Ramon, Jenna Allen, Stephanie Stewart).
