Creative Writers' Circle

Creative Write Time!

Creative Write Time! provides writers with a weekly open space to be creative and produce literary work. Any creative writer in the Texas State community may bring their own in-progress works, use provided prompts, or free-write. For Spring 2019, we will meet each Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:00.

This workshop allows for written expression in an environment that is safe and allows writers to set aside time in their busy schedules to consistently write.

Great for writers of all calibers, Write Time! welcomes any student, faculty, or staff member who wants to write.

Your life is already artful -- waiting, just waiting for you to make it art. --Toni Morrison

Response Circle!

Response Circle! follows Creative Write Time! and offers writers the opportunity to share and evaluate their work in a judgement-free environment while listening to feedback from their peers. Any campus-affiliated writer may bring their work to be discussed in these student-led workshops, which are open to all literary forms. You may simply read the work you'd like to share out loud, but please print out works beforehand in our computer lab or bring them on a flash drive if you would like more in-depth feedback.

Creative Write Time! and Response Circle! are fun, relaxed environments designed to help diverse groups of writers find their voices. Come create and share your work with us!

This semester, Creative Writers' Circle meets on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:00PM (Creative Write Time!) and 5:00-6:20PM (Response Circle!) in the Writing Center, Room 108.

Feel free to follow us on Facebook to make appointments with our tutors for creative writing and other writing assignments!
