Class tours are a scheduled time for you and your students to visit the Writing Center to learn about our services, what to expect in a tutoring session, our policies, including confidentiality, and why using the Writing Center matters. These tours last about twenty minutes and are a friendly way to introduce students to the concept of a writing center and to encourage use of the Center and its resources. Having a peer talk to your students can demystify the Writing Center and take away any perceived stigma about tutoring. Students are more likely to make an appointment with the Writing Center if you bring them to the Writing Center! We schedule Writing Center tours to begin on the hour and half-hour (e.g., 1:00 PM, 1:30 PM).
You can now book your own tour at the Writing Center!
If you want your class to tour the Writing Center during our regular business hours, you can now book your own appointment to begin on the hour or half-hour by using our new scheduling system.
To book a tour at the Writing Center during business hours, follow these steps:
Request a tour for outside of our business hours or in your classroom!
If your class meets outside of the Writing Center's regular business hours, or if you are having trouble finding an available tour guide during your class time, use our Request a Class Tour form. It may take up to 48 business hours for us to reply while we search for an available tutor.
